...have pain au chocolat for breakfast.

But I'm on holiday, and it is France, after all.
Plus I'm excused because I wanted to try putting together a nice, but simple breakfast tableau out of objets trouvés, i.e. found objects. BF's rental apartment contains all essentials, but nothing more, which makes breakfast a nice little decoration challenge.

There are some nice things in the kitchen cabinets though. The tablecloth is actually a waffle towel.
I might be a Napkin Nerd - I've got a quite nice little collection at home - but I haven't bought any here. So I took a sheet of ordinary kitchen paper and separated the layers. I used one layer to make the little paper fan.

From the other layer, I cut out a couple of paper flowers.

Bit flower power, isn't it? This is a simple way of decorating if you've got little money (and lots of spare time...)
Guys, I hope you're not missing the ordinary interior decoration photos too much. I promise to post some of these in between. But I think that when you're on holiday, you should do the things you normally haven't got time for - and in my case, it's doing these small everyday displays plus practising my photography,
and just, you know -

So cute Trudi! Hope you are having a lovely time!
You go, girl! I love the paper towel and paper towel flowers! So creative!!
Yum!
oh how decadent! i'm drooling now.
If you're in France, you absolutely must have a pain au chocolat for breakfast! And at any other time of the day for that matter. :) The thing I miss most about living in Paris is my local bakery. Seriously. Enjoy!
Trudi,
I am so excited for you that you are in France. And so jealous that you are eating Pain au Chocolat, which I could eat anytime of day. Enjoy it all and do as you said - play.
Catherine
I love pain au chocolat. First thing I bought last time in Paris. Had one every second day for breakfast (I walked it off).
Beautiful photos - clean and pretty. You are a very good photographer!
Hope things are wonderful at the BF's house!

These photos made me smile. I fully agree that you should take every opportunity to make your living space beautiful in every way possible. That usually means little things and a bit of creative thought rather than expense. I just love the paper towel application.
Oh but in Paris you walk a lot so it doesn't count! In London I pretty much only ate blueberry cheesecakes & muffins, gooey brownies, chips and sea food and I ended up getting thinner! Bon apetit ;)
You are so cute!
- and of course you should have pain au chocolat for breakfast! Blame it on Paris!
