The other day, Pia Jane Bijkerk made a post where she wrote about Katie crackernut's op shop challenge, which is to participate in News Limited's 1degree project to reduce carbon footprint. Kate's challenge is to wear only thrift shop/ second-hand clothes at work for 14 days, and she's one of the ten remaining persons competing to win a hybrid car!
Pia challenged her readers to support Kate by blogging about second-hand shopping. This isn't too difficult, since this is my favourite way of shopping. It's eco friendly, budget friendly and fun!

My last Salvation Army shop find has been hanging on the wall in my living room for quite a while now.

This tiny handbag, also a SA shop find, is part of the wall display in my entry, together with my beloved umbrellas and Argentine tango shoes!
Oops - did you buy something that didn't fit anyway? One option is to give it back - this is a great way of being double supportive. Or: why not make something brand new?

I made this pillow from a SA skirt and top that I didn't use anymore.

Oh my goodness. Thanks so much for the cheer. I can't believe the cheersquad that I've got happening here. Your jacket. I can see why it would be hanging on your wall. It's pure art. Fabulous. Can't wait to have a better look at your blog when the hoopla is all over. It's a fun ride. Thanks for joining me.
Fabulous, Trudi! I'm so thrilled to see posts like this :)
PS. We will love your self portrait when ever it makes it's way over :) I know, it was tricky for me too!
